New function for Argonaute proteins
Nat Struct Mol Biol Oct 2012
Sept. 9, 2012
Already known for their role in RNA interference, Argonaute proteins also regulate another process that affects gene expression: alternative splicing. This is what researchers from the Laboratory “Epigenetics and Cancer” (CNRS/CEA) and the laboratory “Genetic, molecular and cellular basis of development” (Institut Pasteur/CNRS) have brought to the light. This result published in Nature Structural & Molecular Biology has been obtained in collaboration with the Center of Immunology of Marseille-Luminy (CNRS/Inserm/Université Aix-Marseille), the Institut des hautes études scientifiques and Ali Hamiche's team from the IGBMC.
