IGBMC call for Group leader positions in Translational Medicine & Neurogenetics

Aug. 20, 2013

Under IGBMC’s Laboratory of Excellence initiative (LabEx),  several group leader positions are open in the Translational Medicine and Neurogenetics (TMN) Department. Research interests include neurodevelopmental, neurobehavioral and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as cardiac and skeletal muscle diseases. The teams employ transversal approaches, from the identification of disease genes to the development of adequate disease models (cell, mouse and fish) and their use to understand the pathophysiology and to develop  therapeutics. The department’s projects are developed in close interaction with one of IGBMC’s European infrastructures, the Mouse Clinical Institute dedicated to mouse phenogenomics.

The TMN Department is welcoming applications for group leader positions from outstanding scientists and wishes to reinforce the following research axes:

  • Neurological or muscle disorders with a focus on imaging and cellular biology
  • Animal models of neurological and/or muscle diseases
  • Bioinformatic and large-scale analysis dedicated to human pathologies

The candidates should be dynamic investigators with an excellent track record and have a strong potential toward development of ambitious and innovative research programs. Applications from both junior and senior investigators will be considered.

Your application : Expression of interest will include, in a single PDF file, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, names and contact of three referees, a brief description (2 to 4 pages) of past achievements and a detailed description (4 to 5 pages) of future research.

Applications must be sent to Labex-INRT@igbmc.fr, subject line : LabEx 03.

Under the Laboratory of Excellence Initiative, the IGBMC will create several Chairs of Excellence positions. They will be open to international candidates and offer competitive packages, including substantial institutional funding and access to state-of-the-art
technologies. New groups recruted via this call in TMN are expected to start in 2014.

Application deadline: 31 October 2013. Interviews: December 2013 – January 2014.
